God invites us to come away from the demands of the day-to-day to His 'porch' where we can be restored.  He reveals himself to us as Jesus taught - not just as the Almighty Creator but also Papa.  One late summer morning as we started the early service, my mind was focused on the extreme difference between the atmosphere outside the church and inside the sanctuary. Outside the air was thick with humidity and the heat index was already past 90 degrees. Inside the air was cool. The lights were soft. Everyone was relaxed and enjoying a vacation from the overwhelming heat.  It reminded me of the relief we feel when we escape into the mountains.  I began to imagine that we were all there together that morning sitting on a cabin porch.

The idea stuck.  Papa's porch is a place where we find things like courage, hope, relationship, and wisdom.  We have fun, and we are serious about serving God and each other.  Dress is casual.  Our praise band provides us with uplifting contemporary praise and worship songs in a variety of music styles.  Current and classic praise and worship songs are teamed with folk, soft rock, and retro styles such as 60's and Motown and 70's classic rock.  The lyrics are always in synch with Papa's message.
